Pop. This is a bubbly song that I’d play if I was cruising down a highway in a convertible with the wind in my hair.
Pop with a bit of future bass.
Corduroy Dreams - Rex Orange County
Indie pop/ alternative hip hop. “How could I ignore you? Trust me I adore you”—happy-go-lucky beats with a honest, raw voice.
Pop. This feel-good song was featured on the soundtrack for Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse. Listen to this song and go watch the movie!
R&B/Soul. By no means a new song, but I come back to this and put it on repeat from time to time. I’m very fond of the choreo I learned for this song during a workshop hosted by Boston University’s Unofficial Project last January (thanks Noah and Alina!).
Lovely (ft. Billie Eilish) - Khalid
Indie/electro-pop. You might know Billie Eilish as the artist behind the hit “Ocean Eyes”, which she penned when she was only 14. Eilish, now 17, is still killing it in the music industry with songs like “bury a friend”, “bad guy”, and another favorite of mine, “bellyache”.
R&B/Pop. One of Halsey’s most personal songs to date—it’s about a breakup with a partner.
Dance/electronic. Easygoing, ethereal. Love me some Medasin.
Continuing my kick from last month, I had Joji, Gentle Bones, and Maroon 5 on repeat throughout January. Lots of favorites from these artists that never get old.
you can find these songs in “monthly faves vol.02” on Spotify, which is oh-so-conveniently located below :) The order is chronologically ascending, with most recent additions at the bottom.
